The role is responsible for spearheading and executing large-scale newbuild entertainment and public space design projects. This role encompasses overseeing all facets of interior, architectural, and entertainment/theatrical infrastructure design from inception through construction and delivery of current and future newbuilds, ensuring adherence to specifications, budget, and schedule. Collaborate closely with entertainment operations to implement the creative strategy in the design and construction of new builds.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, evaluate, and coordinate the entertainment, architectural, and interior design aspects of passenger ships in collaboration with internal stakeholders, assigned architects, and entertainment consultants.
- Organize project meetings and provide leadership, utilizing effective verbal and written communication to manage shipbuilders, architects, consultants, and project teams across all phases. Foster and promote teamwork among all parties involved.
- Review designs, drawings, and specifications submitted by shipbuilders, architects, and designers, ensuring functionality and operational needs are met within the allocated budget.
- Identify opportunities to optimize construction, lifecycle, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through value-engineered processes.
- Develop and maintain project timelines and schedules, identifying critical paths and key milestones.
- Collaborate closely with Entertainment Production and Operations business owners to ensure alignment with entertainment and brand requirements.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of entertainment technologies and emerging trends to support initiatives of Entertainment Technical and business owners.
- Prepare and present status reports to executive management.
- Stay current with regulatory requirements, including USPH and ADA guidelines.
- Familiarize with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS), ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
- Develop, manage, and monitor Capital Expenditure Budgets for Owner Furnished Material.
- Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree
FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Architecture. Interior Design or any equivalent combination of relevant background and experience in entertainment technologies and production.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 12 years' experience in entertainment technical production required. Minimum of 5 years' experience managing large scale projects in the cruise ship industry.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
- Excellent communication, computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Auto CAD, Apple Mac) and organizational skills.
- Must possess a high degree of organizational skills, flexibility, confidentiality, a team player, be capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Knowledge Entertainment Technologies for Cruise Ships and Land Based projects.
